Research : Re-edited verison of music video

In one media lesson we were taught about lip syncing and the importance getting it right , we were given a hard drive and asked to edit on final cut pro an A2 music video from last year. However we were only given certain scenes from the actual music video , one thing i noticed while editing is that the groups artist didn't lip sync that well.  Instead of actually singing while filming the artist only sang softly which meant that the kip syncing in the actual video wasn't belivable

Screen grab of my editing process :

What i did first was put a marker at the beginning of the song , right before Ellie Goulding sang her first word "Breath" . Then i went about choosing which scene's i was going to use , i choose 4 and yet again in every shot i made sure i marked it a split second before the artist mimed the first word. This is how i learnt lip syncing was achieved . I then went about marking the song to the beat so that when it came to splitting and editing my shots i could edit to the beat which would make the end result more successful . As you can see from above i used certain base tracks frequently to give the video a bit of structure and variety
