I was watching xfactor on saturday and was examining the contestants on who is similar to kate nash, Vanessa has used a great example of lucy. This made me think back to last year contestants then janet devlin popped into my mind
A factor that I loved about janet was on majority songs that she performed including her audition song, she always took a sing/talk approach which gives the song a edge and makes it hers, this is similar to kate nash she tends to use the talk/sing method in her songs, instead of using ballets in which a lot of artist in the pop category do.
This is janet devlin first audition in which she performed a ellie goulding song- i hope you dont mind. she performed this beautifully and this reminded me of kate nash, the shyness in this beggining but boldness at the end. This is similar to kate nash-birds, at first you would not spot any comparison however when listening carefully they both use that talk/sing method.
