The music industry continues to change and will always change, A stereotype of music videos is that is must have meaning and relate to the audience but not for the new worldwide hit Gangnam style "Gangnam Style" is a single by the South Korean pop artist PSY. The song was released on July 15, 2012, as the lead single of his sixth studio album PSY 6 (Six Rules), Part 1. "Gangnam Style" debuted at number one on the Gaon Chart, the national record chart of South Korea. As of November 4, 2012, the music video has been viewed over 650 million times on YouTube and is the site's second most watched video and most watched K-pop video"
Gangnam style has blown over all social networks and all over the world even my 6 year old nephew sings along, and this intriugues me because even though were not quit sure what he is saying in the song we are still drawn to this song and the video, the only clear english words are "Gangnam style"

A few days back "Gangnam" was trending all over the world that is to sure how far this song and dance is reaching and speed it is going at,the captions on the left is comments that have been made on twitter, each comment has 30 second- 1 minute difference so that is to show just how much are people are speaking about gangnam style.

Gangstyle dance has recieved a whooping 654,272,705 it looks like a telephone number, this video alone has recieved more than half a billion, and was released just 5 months ago, by late 2013 this song could be on a billion views, this shows just how much people are in love with gangnam style, it has took the world by storm.

I took this screenshot to show you the extent of popularity this video is recieving as you can see on youtube all i done was type in "g" and out of all the songs starting with g it says gangnam style, it dominates most of the suggested songs.







The artist PSY has a more than a million likes on facebook and has thousands of "Talking about" this once again re-inforces the extent that this song has gone, last year in my music industry class we spoke about the decrease in sale due to privacy and many other reasons why sales in songs purchase are decreasing. However after seeing this questions my thoughts on them ideas,  23,000 downloads sold in the week ending of September 8, 2012, and two weeks later reached number 25 with 61,000 downloads;previously, 57,000 copies were downloaded in the US up until August 31. The song rocketed to number four for the chart week of September 29, with 188,000 downloads
it might just be that the reason sales in purchased cd are decreasing are due to the artist audience simply loosing interest.
