Ancillary: Digipak Inspiration

Inspiration for my digipak

For my digipak, I have created an outside cover and inside panels to create a whole album for the artist. From creating my digipak I have mainly turned to Kate Nash's album my best friend is you for inspiration on how to design my digipak.

Kate Nash has a unique stlye. Her songs are very upbeat and girly with lots of interesting mise en scene, and her quirky, retro stlye adds to her overall image. As her songs show a clear visual link to her album my best friend is you, I thought that using her album as inspiration was fitting to my digipak also to show this link.

Kate Nash's inside pack, had a clear link from the outside to the inside. All the images used have a coloured filter on them to give it a fun look. Images are manipulated and arranged on the page in a mixed way. The text sizes vary although not too much and are tilted in different ways which gives it a graphic look.

In my created digipak, I have used two simple images on the front and back to identify the artist to the audeience. I have added a slight pink filter to the images in addition and have used the same font throughout. In the inside panels I have added a pink filter on the left image to add the the fun feeling of the digipak and lighten up the look of it. On the right hand side behind the image I have included various images of the video and other photos of the artist to show more of the artist.
By using my best friend is you as inspiration I have looked at adding filters on to the images and have also used the song lyrics of Merry Happy on the inside panel in a tilted way. This adds to the overall look and feel of the digipak to make it clear and visual.
