I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED !!

                                    gif make

The one word I would use to sum up how I feel right now and about the whole media journey is .... HAPPY ! I'm closing off knowing that I have tried my hardest this year to really push myself, learn and grow as a media student. A BIG Thank you to all my teachers for helping and motivating me to do better and not forgetting my group members !

Evaluation : Question 3

Evaluation - Question 2

How effective is the combination of your main product (Video)
and ancillary texts (digipak and advertisement) ?

As mentioned in my vlog, there are a few aspects from my video that link with my digipak and advertisement.

  • The pink and white striped wall
  • Yin Yang necklace
  • The navy blue dress
  • The colour pink as a whole
  • Facial expressions + body language
  • Font

Who is my target audience ?

Specific Target audience :

My specific target audience are the type of people who would create videos like this , they are creative and quirky and not camera shy at all. They also love to have fun and experiment with their style like the girls in the Kate Nash - Mouthwash video remake.  My WIDER audience though aren't Indie pop fans but appreciate some indie pop artists style or at least know or have heard of one song from the Indie pop genre.

I know they are my audience because of research
The girl answering my formspring question has pink hair and is a fan of Kate Nash music .

My audience I believe can recognise them as linked products due to the amount of times it is repeated and reinforced within my music video. For example the necklace was always on my neck while filming , in some shots the audience would be able to pick up on the fact that the necklace is on two chains. They would then look at the front panel on my digipak, see the two chains for the yin yang necklace and would quickly link it up to the video.

A few examples of Links & comparisons !

I honestly feel that my main product and ancillary texts are really successful not only because of how STRONG the visual links are but because of how great they look individually as well as together. My music video has that quirky and fun vibe,  from the outfits I wear to the locations they all scream out indie pop which will attract my specific target audience AND my wider target audience. The digipak does this too but in a different way , the neutral colours combined with the rare pop of colour, simplistic layout and design is reminiscent of Kate Nash's digipak . THAT is what will attract my target audience to my digipak and like wise for my advertisement.

Evaluation : Question 1

Evaluation : Question 4

Evaluation : Feedback from teacher

After completing 3 out of the 4 evaluation questions and saving them as drafts I asked my media teacher Louisa to have a look and inform me on anything that needs improving or adding to each question. She had a look and these are the points she made..

Question 1 :

  • Add a real media comparison for your music vide

Question 2 :

  • We need to know who your target audience is
  • How do we know they are your target audience ?
  • Change slide share to something else (For example : photobucket)
Question 4 :
  • Make text bigger in the ancillary part
  • Add a summary telling us what you have learnt

I noted Louisa's feedback down

I believe feedback is imperative to ensure a strong outcome , for me to achieve a good grade for the evaluation I must take everything on board and improve my work accordingly. I'm in the process of finishing question 3 as a draft and asking my teacher to take a look before I post the finished version. However this might be tricky as the deadline is tomorrow and my teacher might be busy.

Ancillary : Tomorrows preparations

Ancillary : Inner panels & photoshop

gifs

To help with meeting the deadline I downloaded photoshop for my mac at home so tomorrow I can get help from teachers at college then come home and really polish things off.

The Inner panels of my digipak are as simplistic as the front panels so that they both project the same 70's feel and vibe . I've added the pink stripes however all that's really missing is a photograph which i'll be adding tomorrow. To keep it retro and slightly dated i've added what looks like labels onto the CD with my name (as i'm the artist) and the album name . Thinking back to the Kate Nash digipak I looked at , simplicity is the word I would use to describe it and even though some people around me are really going full out and intricate i've decided that me as an artist would do keep things simple, retro and fun !
